<description>The task to create a temporary exhibition space for over
500 books in 90 m2 was solved with a modular system
based on a standard shelving system, which is traditionally
used in a vertical position for book storage.
By order conversion into a horizontal table, the system
becomes a presentation space. This provides the ability to
open the book directly and to browse through it. The linear
lines of tables and their accessibility from both sides provokes
communication among the visitors. The use of standard
components is also a very cost effective and simple way to
create a temporary structure.

In collaboration with Tine Huhn, Bodo Pahlke and Pascal Hien.

<description>The concept of Canvas was to design a flexible light which
can be adapted to different shapes an rooms. Canvas is
composed of several layers which include optical, electrical
and thermal design properties. The electrical layer consists
of a strechable system, back-covered by a knitted fabric made
of metallised yarn which works as a soft cooling system.
For the top layer, a non-conductive fabric that is structured
by a deep drawing process is used to stabilize the underlying
optics. Two or more canvas fabrics can be combined with the
help of snap fasteners to larger areas. Every time when Canvas
is moved new light patterns and situations can be formed.

(Prototype 2010)

In collaboration with Manuel Seckel &#38; Christian Dils
from Strechable Circuits and Fraunhofer IZM .

<description>Inspired by braided structures I aimed to design objects
that could create a two- or threedimensional pattern that
is stretchable. The resulting shelving system is based
on the principle of a scissors grid with extended axes
to make room for shelves. This creates a superimposed
image of diagonals, which is adjustable and can be fixed
in three different positions. Bended, powder-coated steel
sheets with strategic cut-outs form shelves that can be
fastened on the axes of the flexible structure in order to
fix it in position. Additionally, simple bookends can be
inserted that lean directly against the wooden struts.

Materials: Beech wood, Steel
Dimensions: Variable

<description>In this project about new sitting positions I have tried
to change the standard sitting position to make it more
communicative. As in typography the standard has been
changed to explore new styles, functions and positions.
The main features of the starting point (the Frankfurt chair)
have been declined to create new characters.
The relationship created by modification and inheritance
can lead to different appearances of the whole group.

(Prototype 2010)

Manufactured in beech wood by Anton Mohr .

<description>The Camp table is based on the principle of an umbrella
stand. Its base is a container, which is filled with water to
stabilize the table. Various materials are used in their unique
function. A water container made of plastic and a lightweight
table top made of aluminum - always in its basic form.
In temporary living situations we have to remain flexible and
don’t want to fit any lights or even drill holes in the wall.
Therefore, the central ceiling light is built directly into the table
and defines the light cone over the table. The lamp becomes
an inherent part of the table. On the balcony you can simply
use a conventional umbrella instead.

Materials: Polystyrene, Aluminium, Steel

<description>The excessive upholstery and therefore required hard
shells of a sofa make it a very bulky piece of furniture.
The camp daybed is a sleeping bag with legs, on which
we can relax during the day and sleep at night. It has a
very deep seat to provide ample space for sleeping.
A padded fabric is hung over the low backrest and tightened
with rubber bands. Like in a tent there are attached back
pockets to store unused pillows or magazines. Of course the
duvet cover can be easily removed and washed. The use of a
3d-fabric made of polyester, which is also used as an outer
membrane for mattresses allows a welded seam. The frame is
dismountable and thus very easy to transport.

Materials: Steel and Vinyl Straps for the Frame,
3d-knitted fabric and cotton for the sleeping bag
Dimensions: 200 x 90 x 70 cm

		<description>
Modern nomads travel a lot. I compare their living situations with camping and its sense of lightness and independence.
The collection is based on the concept of autonomy.
For its installation we should not have to drill holes in the wall or remove doors. The objects that are reminiscent of camping are transferred directly and recombined, so that their benefits are clearly enhanced. They retain their functional character but are, however, pieces of furniture that are frozen in their movement: a sleeping bag on legs, an umbrella stand with a large table top, a flashlight in an outlet power strip made of stone. The objects can be removed easily and are haptically and visually light.
